The EUR UNITEID PhD program offers five to six doctoral grants per year, awarded on a competitive basis, for the financing or co-financing of three-year theses, as well as the financing of a fourth year of thesis. Students must be enrolled in a doctoral program in Toulouse, and carry out their thesis in a EUR partner laboratory. The EUR UNITEID doctoral program is coordinated with the Masters program and involves two doctoral schools at the University of Toulouse: Biology, Health, Biotechnology (BSB) and Ecological, Veterinary, Agronomic and Bioengineering Sciences (SEVAB).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

To be eligible for a doctorate at the EUR, the project must be cross-disciplinary in nature, with the aim of providing interdisciplinary training. Selection is made by the EUR Evaluation Committee in an annual competition, and depends on both the excellence of the candidate and the cross-disciplinary nature of the project.<\/p>

UNITEID brings together top-level research teams involved in the following priority\/emerging infectious diseases: Avian influenza, poxviruses, tuberculosis, HIV, HEV, SARS-CoV-2, Zika, Bornaviruses, Prions, malaria, antimicrobial resistance, as well as epidemiology research teams. UNITEID boasts state-of-the-art technical facilities, including BSL3 laboratories, zootechnics for MIE (EquipEx Aninfimip), Omics (Genotoul) and Artificial Intelligence (ANITI) platforms.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

EUR UNITEID is able to finance or co-finance three-year doctoral grants. To this end, an admissions competition is held every year in July. Assistance is also available for both incoming and outgoing mobility.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Students must be enrolled in a PhD program in Toulouse, and carry out their thesis in a EUR partner laboratory. International cotutelles are strongly encouraged.\u00a0<\/p>

In line with the objectives of the national acceleration strategy on Emerging Infectious Diseases (EIDs) and CBRN threats (nuclear, radiological, biological and chemical threats), the scope of funding eligibility is restricted to the EUR field, i.e. EIDs and antibiotic resistance, and therefore does not cover all infectiology, microbiology, or the epidemiology of non-emerging \/ non-priority infectious diseases. This suitability for the EUR field is a prerequisite for the admissibility of funding applications.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
